The Feuerstein Institute hosts the International Conference on Neuroplasticity and Cognitive Modifiability

From June 2-5, the Feuerstein Institute had the privilege of hosting the 2013 International Conference on Neuroplasticity and Cognitive Modifiability. The three day conference featured presentations from leading international scientists, including Professor Umberto Margiotta from University Ca'Foscari in Venice, who gave the opening lecture, Dr. Stella De Bode from UCLA, Professor Maryanne Wolf from Tufts University and Professor Christine Skolnik from DePaul University. The conference was attended by 120 neurologists, neuro-scientists, psychologists and treatment specialists from more than 30 countries throughout the world, all eager to learn about the latest developments in this very important discipline, and the work of the Feuerstein Institute.

and applications of our work, which is rooted in neuroplasticity and belief in cognitive modifiability.We presented new research recently conducted on the Integration of Ethiopians in Academia, the Increase in the Prevalence of PDD and Autism, and Prevention of Mental Deterioration in the Elderly; all original research conducted by the Institute,which was met with lots of enthusiasm.

The highlight of the conference was the closing panel on Spiritualism vs. Materialism. The panel, which included renowned neurologists and philosophers Professor Shalom Rosenberg, Professor Yochanan Greenspan, Dr. Yakir Kaufman and Professor Christine Skolnik, discussed the spiritual aspect neuro-science and its affect on human awareness.

The conference was a tremendous success in spreading awareness and sharing knowledge of this extremely important scientific principle of Neuroplasticity and its relation to the Feuerstein Theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability.
